Just realized my old hand tools were costing me money for years
I finally bought a decent multimeter for $80 after using a cheap $10 one for like 5 years. That thing gave me wrong readings on a fridge compressor last month, wasted a whole afternoon replacing a part that was fine. The new one paid itself off on the first call when it caught a bad capacitor in 2 minutes. Anyone else stick with cheap gear way too long?

Honestly, that's the kind of lesson you have to learn the hard way. Ngl, I ran a cheap socket set into the ground before realizing it was rounding off bolts and costing me way more time than it saved. Tbh, one decent tool that does its job beats a whole drawer full of junk.

Read something similar on a car forum last week about how cheap tools can actually damage your fasteners over time. Totally agree that one good ratchet is worth ten cheap ones.
