Passed 500 refrigerators fixed this morning and honestly the math scares me more than the compressor ever did
I started logging every job in a pocket notebook back during the pandemic and crossed number 500 today, which means 500 times I climbed into someone's kitchen and 500 times I promised them cold milk by dinner, and I still feel like I'm guessing half the time, so does anyone else keep a running count or is it just me?
500 jobs and you still feel like you're guessing? That's not a bad thing, that's the job telling you something. Every kitchen is different, every fridge has its own weird history, so of course it never feels routine.
I've been at this 12 years and the ones who think they've seen it all are the ones who mess up. The count isn't proof you should feel sure, it's proof you kept showing up when it was hard.
Also, remembering their names and what they actually wanted matters way more than the number. That's the part that never gets old.
