Spent 4 hours diagnosing a fridge that just needed a door switch...
Got a call about a Frigidaire that wasn't cooling at all. I checked the compressor, the condenser coils, even pulled the start relay. After 4 hours of scratching my head I finally noticed the door switch wasn't clicking right when the door closed. Replaced the switch for about $12 and the whole thing fired right up. Has anyone else wasted a whole afternoon on something that simple?

Door switch won't keep the compressor running if the door's open.

I mean, I get that it's technically true that the switch cuts the compressor when the door's open @terry_bailey35, but are we really acting like this is some huge, game-changing insight? It's literally a basic safety feature on every fridge ever made (you know, to keep kids from getting trapped or whatever). I just don't see the big deal.
