Stop using vinegar to clean your washing machine drums

I keep seeing people recommend vinegar for cleaning out all the gunk and it bothers me every time. Vinegar can eat away at the rubber seals and hoses over time, I had to replace a door boot on a 3 year old Samsung last month because of it. Has anyone else had to fix damage from home remedies like this?

Your 3 year old Samsung door boot issue was more likely caused by the cleaning cycle itself running too hot or the rubber just wearing out, not by occasional vinegar use.

Vinegar is acidic enough to crack rubber seals @henry_palmer24, heat is just coincidence.
