Swapped out my old multimeter for a clamp meter on condenser fan calls

I used to always just voltage-test at the relay with my old Fluke 77, but last summer I picked up a Klein CL800 for about 80 bucks. Now I check amp draw right at the compressor common wire before I even pull the cover. Caught a failing run cap on a Trane unit that way last month. Has anyone else found amp draw tells you more than voltage checks on those weird intermittent trips?

Amp draw has caught stuff for me too, especially on those units where voltage looks fine but the compressor's struggling. That CL800 is a solid upgrade, I grabbed one last year and haven't looked back.
