Warranty claims vs. honest repair bills - which side are you on?
Had a customer last week whose 3-year-old fridge died. Compressor shot. Looked up the warranty - 10 year on the compressor, but labor not covered. Customer expected me to eat the 4 hours of work. My boss says always push the warranty path. I say it burns trust with the homeowner. Where do you draw the line?

Read something on another forum about a guy who had the exact same issue. LG fridge, compressor under warranty, but labor was gonna be $350. He just paid it. Said it was cheaper than a new fridge and the guy fixed it right there in his kitchen. I get both sides though. Warranty protects you if it's a known problem. But 4 hours labor on a fridge that's basically new? That stings. Customer probably felt you were nickel and diming them.

Honestly yeah, same thing happened to me with a washer last year, paid $200 labor and just grumbled through it.
