Wasted a whole Saturday on a compressor relay diagnostic mess
I spent about 6 hours last month chasing a no-start on a Frigidaire refrigerator. Checked the start relay, ohmed it out, thought it was fine. Replaced the capacitor anyway. Still nothing. Finally called a buddy who's been doing this since the 80s, and he says 'did you check the cold control?' I hadn't even thought of it. Cost me $45 in parts I didn't need and a full day of lost calls. Now I always test the cold control first on those models. Has anyone else been burned by skipping simple stuff on Frigidaire units?

Chased a no-start on a Frigidaire"... man I feel this. Did the exact same dance last year, replaced the whole relay kit, still dead. Buddy came over, jiggled the cold control knob, and it fired right up. Felt like a real genius that day.

Jiggling the knob... hate when it's that simple.
