A crane operator in Portland taught me one rigging trick that changed how I set every choker
I was on a removal job in Portland last month and the crane guy showed me how to balance a choker with a single half hitch so the log doesn't roll when you lift it. I tried it on a big maple and the piece came up level for the first time in 12 years of cutting. My ground guy said it was the smoothest pick he's ever seen. Has anyone else picked up a small trick from a crane op that you still use on every job?
