Had to take down a cottonwood that fought back for 6 hours straight
I took a job removing a big cottonwood in a backyard near the Spokane river last month. The tree looked fine from one side, but the core was totally hollowed out by rot and it kept splitting in weird directions on me. Every cut I made, the stress shifted and I had to stop and rethink my rigging setup. Has anyone else had a tree that just would not cooperate no matter how much you planned ahead?

Oh, I get what you mean. It's funny how we name unpredictable things after people - like a "stubborn" tree dropping branches just when you park underneath. Makes me think we need more patience in our daily routines, since even the quietest things can throw a curveball your way.
