I finally shelled out for a decent pole pruner and it saved my back

Honestly, I was using this old manual pole saw for like 5 years and it was pure misery on tall oaks. Last month I dropped $340 on a gas powered pole pruner, the kind with the little chainsaw head. Took me one job to realize how much time I was wasting on the hand saw, I trimmed a whole row of maples in half the morning. The extra weight is a pain but man, my shoulders aren't screaming after work. Anyone else make the switch and find the cost worth it for bigger jobs?

$340 for a little chainsaw on a stick? Seems steep but whatever floats your boat. I still use my old manual saw for everything unless I'm doing a massive job. Took me like ten extra minutes on a few big branches last weekend and my back was fine. Maybe your technique was off or you were using a dull blade this whole time. Gas ones are loud, heavy, and need maintenance too. Different strokes I guess.
