My ladder did the splits on a wet lawn and saved a client's hedge
Last month I was trimming a big privet in Maplewood and the legs sank into the soggy ground, tipping me sideways into the bush. Instead of falling, the branches caught my weight and I just hung there like a dopey sloth until my ground guy shoved a plywood pad under me. Now I carry two 2x2 ply squares in the truck for any soft yard, total game changer for a $12 fix. Anyone else go full acrobat on a damp slope?
Used to roll my eyes at guys who carried plywood scraps around, figured they were just overthinking it. Then I ate dirt on a wet hill last spring and now those squares live in my truck too. Cheap fix beats a broken arm any day.
