My old foreman called my hinge cuts sloppy and now I can't stop double checking them
So about 5 months ago my foreman in Portland watched me do a few hinge cuts on a removal and just goes "you're rushing the face, cut it clean or don't cut it." I was pretty heated at the time since I'd been climbing for 6 years at that point. But then I started marking every face cut with a scribed line and checking my gunning before I even pull the trigger on the saw, and honestly my fell direction has been way tighter. The flip side is some of the older guys are saying I'm slowing the crew down on production jobs. Where do you all land on speed versus a clean face, and did somebody ever call you out on something that turned out to be right?
