Spent 6 hours chasing a lean on a 40 foot silver maple that turned out to be my own wedge cut
Had a maple in Tacoma last Tuesday that kept barber-chairing on me and I swore the hinge was rotting out. Turns out I was cutting my notch at 70 degrees instead of 45 and fighting my own geometry for half the day. Anybody else ever blame the tree for a mistake that was all in the face cut?
