Switched from climbing spikes to a bucket truck on residential jobs
Used to think spikes were the only way to do removals fast. Then I shattered a huge limb on a customer's driveway in Portland last July. The homeowner was pissed and I had to pay $400 for concrete repair. Now I use a 60-foot bucket truck for any job within reach of a road. Saves my legs and stops me from wrecking people's property. Anyone else ditch spikes for residential work?

In my experience 60 foot bucket trucks can't reach half the backyards around here.

Gotta disagree with you there man. I've been running a 60 footer for years and it gets into most tight spots just fine if you know how to maneuver it right. Maybe your local crews aren't taking the time to find the right angle or parking it on the street instead of backing it down the driveway.
