Thought a stump grind was a 2-hour job and it took me 6

Ran into a buried concrete slab under a big maple stump last Tuesday and spent an extra 4 hours digging it out with a shovel because my grinder couldn't touch it - anyone else ever hit hidden debris that turned a quick job into an all-day thing?

Fair enough, but honestly I see it the other way. Burying concrete under a stump is actually a pro move if you ask me. Back when I was landscaping, we'd toss in broken sidewalk chunks on purpose to anchor stumps during wet seasons. A little concrete makes the root ball stay put way better than just dirt. Sucks that it wrecked your timeline though, I feel that. Next time maybe check with a probe rod first before firing up the grinder.
