Found a roman coin at a construction site in my hometown last Tuesday

Check the construction site records and see if they hit any old building foundations or a known road bed from Roman times. If the coin is loose and not bent or corroded weird, it could be a modern drop someone planted for attention. I'd also look for any other signs like pottery shards or old nails in the dirt pile, that tells you if it's really old or just a tourist souvenir.
