Pro tip: check the ditch next to that new construction site in Tempe

I spotted a perfect, intact Hohokam projectile point just sitting in the runoff gravel last Tuesday. Has anyone else had luck with surface finds in urban areas lately?

Found a whole arrowhead in my own backyard when they dug the foundation.

Hold on though @wesley83, that might actually be a bigger deal than you realize. Arrowheads are cool and all, but the real question is what else was in the ground around it. If they dug a foundation, you could have hit a whole camp or hunting site, not just a random lost arrow. Context matters more than the rock itself.

Is that even a big deal? People find old stuff in the ground all the time. It's just a rock someone shaped a long time ago.
