Showerthought: My old college textbook on Pompeii is basically wrong now

I was cleaning out my closet and found my archaeology 101 book from 2012, the one with the big section on Pompeii. I pulled it out and read it next to a new article from last week about the same site. The book said the eruption was in August, but the new findings (using plant remains and wind patterns) show it was probably October. They also found a whole new street of shops last year that my book never mentions. It's wild how much can change in just over a decade. Has anyone else had a favorite site get totally updated like that?
