Skimming my first site notebook from years ago, it's funny what I valued then.
I used to hunt for flashy objects to show off. Now a simple tool mark or seed sample feels way more telling, you know?

My first dig I packed three different brushes for a single arrowhead. Now I realize half the shiny things I kept were just weird rocks, and the actual broken pot bits told the whole story. Yikes, man.

What made you finally see the difference between the shiny junk and the real finds? Was it just more time in the field, or did someone have to point it out to you?
