Am I the only one who lost a filling on a interstate exit ramp in Kansas
I was driving from Wichita to Kansas City last Friday when I bit down on a gas station pretzel at a rest stop and felt a chunk of my back molar come loose, so I called 4 dentists from the parking lot until one in Emporia squeezed me in that afternoon for a temp crown that cost me $310 out of pocket, and now I keep a dental repair kit in my glove box, but what do you guys actually do when something like that happens on a road trip?
The "called 4 dentists from the parking lot" part is smart, most people just keep driving and suffer. My trick is to hit up a chain like Aspen Dental or a dental school if you're near a bigger city, they'll get you in same day more often than a private office will. But honestly the real move is prevention, keep a tube of Dentemp or Orajel in the console before you ever need it, that stuff holds a loose filling or crown long enough to get home. And skip the gas station pretzels, those things are basically designed to rip out dental work. Cheap fix now beats a $2000 root canal later when you let a broken tooth sit for a week.
