Can we talk about how I just found out popcorn ceilings from the 1970s might have asbestos in them?

I was scrolling through a home inspection forum on a Tuesday night and saw someone mention that popcorn ceilings installed before 1980 can contain up to 10% asbestos, which totally freaked me out since I just bought a house built in 1976 with one of those ceilings - has anyone else dealt with testing and removal for this?

Wait, does this mean my 1977 house has a ceiling that's literally trying to kill me slowly, or just the normal amount of slowly like everything else in my life?

My aunt had a house built in 1978 and she swore the popcorn ceiling was watching her. Not in a scary way, more like it was judging her for eating ice cream straight from the carton. Never did figure out if it was the asbestos or just her imagination.
