Got told my teeth scraping was too aggressive by a patient last week
A lady in her 60s straight up told me I was making her gums bleed more than her old hygienist ever did. I had to step back and realize I was using too much pressure on the ultrasonic scaler. Has anyone else gotten feedback that made you completely rethink your approach to something?

Ngl that sounds like a tough moment but it's actually a good reality check. You might be thinking that more pressure equals cleaner teeth but really it's about the right technique not force. Had a dentist tell me once that ultrasonic scalers do the work for you if you let them, you just gotta guide it. Maybe ease up on the water pressure too, that can make a difference with bleeding. Good on you for stepping back and noticing instead of getting defensive.

I hear you but honestly more pressure worked fine for me for years, different strokes for different folks @alex524.
