I finally asked a dumb question at a city council meeting in Boise and it saved my block $1,800
Went to my first ever city council meeting two Thursdays ago because our street was getting repaved and I wanted to know who pays for driveway aprons. I sat there for 90 minutes too nervous to speak, then finally raised my hand and asked the engineer directly. He said the city covers the apron if the old one is damaged during milling, but only if you request an inspection BEFORE they pour. Three of my neighbors already paid contractors $600 each to redo theirs, and mine got done free last Monday. Has anyone else caught a break like this just by showing up and asking?
