I set my table saw blade 1/8 inch too high for 6 months before a guy in Reno pointed it out
I was cutting dados for a bookshelf project and kept getting tearout on the back side. A retired cabinet maker named Walt at the local woodcraft store watched me make one cut and said my blade was way too high. I had it set at about 1.5 inches when it should have been barely above the wood. Learned that the blade should just clear the stock by a tooth or so, cuts way cleaner and safer too. Anyone else get taught something basic way late in the game?
