My GPS sent me to a random driveway in Des Moines and I knocked on the door anyway
I was trying to find a buddy's new apartment last weekend and ended up 20 minutes away at some stranger's house, so I just stood there on their porch debating whether to ring the bell or sprint back to my car. What's the weirdest place a map app has ever dropped you off?
Check the address against the cross streets before you even put the car in drive, because GPS loves to grab the closest match and run with it. I've been dropped at a cemetery gate, a locked storage unit, and once a cornfield that shared a zip code with my actual stop. Now I always zoom in on satellite view first to see if the spot even looks like a real building. If it doesn't match, I type the address straight into the map app instead of trusting the pin. Standing on a stranger's porch is how you end up on somebody's doorbell camera as the weird guy who rang and then bolted.
