My last 3 phone battery deaths were all the same app running silent
After draining my Pixel to zero three times in a week, I finally noticed the weather widget was refreshing every 5 minutes in the background, so check your app battery page before you blame the hardware, has anyone else caught a sneaky background process like this?

My Fitbit app was doing the same thing last month. I noticed my phone dropping like 30 percent overnight and could not figure out why. Went into battery settings and saw the app had been syncing every 10 minutes even while I was asleep. Turned off background sync and my phone lasted two more days on a charge. Now I check that battery page like once a week.
