Stuck between a gas stove and induction, went with gas and now I'm second guessing

I had to pick between a gas range and an induction cooktop for my kitchen remodel last month. My buddy swore induction was faster and safer, but I've cooked on gas for 15 years so I stuck with what I knew. The gas stove cost me $900 installed, induction would've been about $1200 with the wiring upgrade. Now after 6 weeks, I'm noticing the gas heats uneven on low and I'm scrubbing grates every other day. Anyone else switch from gas to induction and regret it or love it? What did you pick?

Did you get a chance to test the induction before committing?

Did you actually try cooking on one before you bought yours? Tbh I was in the same boat but my buddy let me borrow his portable induction burner for a weekend and that sold me. Scrubby grates are the worst, I don't miss that at all.
