TIL a trick for getting people to actually answer your question here

I used to write long, vague posts and get zero replies, but after a month of lurking I noticed the ones that worked started with a specific number or place. Started doing that last week and my response rate tripled. What's a trick you've picked up that actually got you better answers?

My buddy found that asking for one specific thing helps a ton.

Holly's right about being specific. It also helps to show you've already tried a basic search, like saying "I checked the manual but page 12 is confusing.
