Warning: I saw a guy get his bag stolen at the Denver airport and now I always keep my wallet in my front pocket.
Some people say you should just be more aware of your surroundings, but others think it's better to use a hidden money belt or a bag with a lock, so what's your go-to move for keeping your stuff safe when you're traveling?

Try holding your bag while also trying to eat a giant pretzel and check your gate.

Why rely on tricks when you can just hold your bag? Front pockets and money belts are fine, but keeping a hand on your stuff in crowded places is the real move.

Man, I gotta call something out here. @barbarar32, holding your bag helps but it's not foolproof. I had my front pocket picked clean in Barcelona while my hand was literally on my bag strap. That stuff can happen fast, especially in crowds. You can get distracted for one second and someone's done. A bag with a lock just buys you time, it won't stop a determined thief with a razor. Real move is using both - keep your hand on the bag AND use a front pocket or money belt. Layers slow them down, giving you time to react.
