A court clerk in Reno spent 45 minutes helping me file my first small claims form
I showed up at the Washoe County courthouse last Tuesday to file a small claims case over a $1,200 deposit my old landlord never returned. I had the wrong form printed and the window was closing in 30 minutes. A clerk named Dana walked me through the correct paperwork line by line, then flagged that I had the wrong address for the defendant and saved my case from getting thrown out. She even wrote a sticky note with the filing fee amount and the date I should expect a hearing. I walked out with a stamped copy and a real shot at getting my money back. Has anyone else had a clerk go out of their way like that, or do you just file online now?
