Caught my landlord lying in court testimony last month
I was in small claims over a security deposit at the county courthouse in downtown Portland. When the landlord said she sent receipts by certified mail but the tracking number she gave was from a package I shipped to myself three years ago. Judge caught it too and I won the full amount back. Has anyone else had a landlord try to pull fake evidence in a hearing?

Honestly, that's wild but not surprising at all. Ngl, I remember trying to argue my case with a landlord once and I brought a binder full of photos of the apartment's weird stains and he countered with a photo of his cat. Judge was not impressed and neither was I, honestly. Good on you for catching that fake tracking number, that takes some real attention to detail. I probably would have just stared at the paperwork like a confused goldfish if that happened to me.

Pretty sure the judge just wanted to see the cat photo and called it a day, right? That's a whole new level of courtroom strategy. You bring a binder, he brings a feline.
