Contract clause in Austin caught me off guard, now I read every exhibit
Small vendor deal last month had a waiver buried on page 14 of an exhibit that let them delay payments by 90 days, got burned for $4,200, has anyone else found weird stuff hiding in the fine print of service agreements?
That 90 day payment delay trick is old as dirt and they love burying it in exhibits because nobody reads past the main agreement. First thing I do now is flip straight to anything labeled exhibit or schedule and read those before I even sign the main contract. Also watch for clauses that let them change the terms later without telling you, those are the real sneaky ones. You can sometimes push back and get that delay knocked down or capped, but only if you catch it before you sign.
