Paid $500 for a will kit online and got a generic template that didn't even cover my state's laws
I spent good money on what was supposed to be a simple legal will package, but the forms were all wrong for my property in Texas. Anyone else get burned by those cheap legal document websites and end up paying a real lawyer double to fix it?

My brother in law actually told me to use one of those $30 online services for my Texas home and I almost did it. But then a friend pointed out that Texas has community property laws and homestead stuff that those generic forms never get right. So I paid $800 for a real estate attorney to do my will and trust and found out my old beneficiary designations were all messed up. Cost more upfront but now I actually sleep at night knowing my kids won't have to fight over the land.
