Sat through three hours of discovery review and my eyes still hurt from squinting at PDFs.

I was in the office last Tuesday trying to find one specific email from a vendor in 2018, and the opposing counsel's scans were so dark I had to zoom in on every page, and now I'm wondering if anyone else has ever just given up and asked for a paper copy instead of dealing with garbage digital files?

The "scans were so dark" part hits hard. I actually request paper copies now. Straight up ask for physical files in the mail. Takes longer but at least I can hold it up to the light or use a magnifying glass. Digital files that look like someone scanned a document through a foggy window are useless. Saves my eyes and my sanity.

Hold up a magnifying glass to the screen and pretend you're a detective from a 90s crime show. I literally did that last week with a lease agreement that looked like it was scanned through a dirty sock. My coworker walked in and asked if I was examining a photo of Bigfoot.
