Showerthought: my public defender in Kent told me to skip the apology letter, and I think she was right

Everyone on here says write the judge a sorry letter, but she told me in the hallway outside courtroom 3 that judges read 40 of those a day and yours just says you got caught. Anyone here actually had a letter help, or is that just tv stuff?
