Update: I got a $95 ticket for expired tags and the officer wrote the wrong date on it
Got pulled over on Riverside Drive last Tuesday around 7pm for tags that ran out in March. The officer wrote the ticket date as the 14th when it was actually the 12th, and the plate number had one digit off. I took photos of everything right there. A paralegal friend said I should look up how to file a motion to dismiss based on a defective citation instead of just paying it. I went to the courthouse window, asked for the right form, and turned it in with copies of my photos attached. Has anyone here actually fought a ticket over a clerical mistake like this, and did the judge toss it or just make you pay anyway?
