Finally got my polar alignment dialed in after 4 hours of fighting with it
I was convinced my mount was busted until I realized my leveling base was off by a few degrees on my patio. Anyone else have a simple step they always double-check now?

Ever check if your tripod legs are actually locked? I had a night ruined because one slowly sank during a session. Now I give each leg a solid shake test before anything else. That and making sure my counterweight shaft is tight enough. It's always the simple stuff that gets you.

My buddy spent an entire imaging run with his lens cap on. The camera was set up and tracking perfectly, but he forgot the most basic step. We still give him a hard time about his "dark nebula" data.

Read about a guy who forgot his intervalometer was recording a timelapse of his closed lens cap for four hours. Said he got a really nice black frame sequence.
