I drove out to the Joshua Tree dark sky area this weekend and saw something I can't explain
I was about an hour outside the park, just sitting in a camping chair with my binoculars. This bright, slow moving light crossed a huge part of the sky over maybe 15 minutes. It wasn't blinking like a plane, and it was way too high and steady to be a drone. I didn't get a photo, but I'm kicking myself now. Has anyone else spotted something like that near a dark sky site before?

What color was the light?

Could have been one of those weird transitional colors. Like right at sunset when a streetlight hasn't fully kicked on yet, and everything looks sort of sickly orange-purple. Makes it impossible to tell if it's green fading to yellow or just a trick of the light.

Pulled up to the high desert last fall and saw the same thing, steady and slow like a star moving sideways. @taylor82 I never caught the color either because it was so faint and white it just looked like a satellite but wrong, you know?
