Shoutout to the guy at the Tucson star party who called my stacked Andromeda "a smudge"
Back in October 2023 I drove out to a dark site near Kitt Peak and set up my rig next to a guy named Ray. He leaned over my laptop after I stacked 47 frames of Andromeda and just said "that's a smudge, you're clipping your blacks." I went home, checked my histogram, and he was right. Now I'm wondering how many other photos I posted here have that same crushed shadow look and I never caught it. Anyone got a simple way to check this before I upload?

Did you check the histogram on the camera or just in post?
