Can we talk about how loud grocery stores are during the holidays

Last Saturday I went to the Publix on Main Street to grab a few things before Christmas. The lights were flickering, there was holiday music blasting, and people were bumping into me every two seconds. By the time I got to the checkout my ears were ringing and I could barely think straight. Has anyone else had to just leave their cart and walk out because of all the noise and lights?

Saturday before Christmas is the absolute worst... those flickering lights and the same 10 songs on repeat drove me out of Kroger last week too. The whole cart just sitting there in aisle 3 while I walked out empty handed.

Oh man, the same 10 songs thing is like psychological warfare at this point. Last Saturday I walked into Target for butter and the Mariah Carey song was on a loop so bad I swear I heard it in my sleep that night. The flickering lights too - one of the bulbs in the ceiling was buzzing so loud I just left my basket of socks and Christmas lights in the middle of the seasonal aisle. Didn't even care who had to put it back. It's like the stores all decide to turn into a sensory nightmare right when you just need to grab something quick.
