Found out 1 in 3 autistic adults deal with severe anxiety, and my own intake papers from 2021 proved it
I was digging through old paperwork last week and found my intake form from a clinic in Denver back in 2021. The doctor had scribbled "anxiety symptoms present, likely lifelong" in the margin, and I just stared at it. Then I looked up stats and saw that roughly 1 in 3 autistic adults deal with severe anxiety, which floored me because I thought I was the odd one out. My whole family kept saying I was just "a worrier" for 20 odd years. Does anyone else have a moment where a number or a note in a file made you go, oh, this was never just me?
