My social battery used to drain after 2 hours at any party, no matter what.

Now I bring my own headphones and take a 15 minute break in a quiet room, and I can actually enjoy seeing my friends. Does anyone have other small tricks that help them handle big groups?

Love that you found a system that works for you. Honestly, calling it a "social battery" is a bit off for me though. It makes it sound like a personal flaw you need to fix, when really some people just find groups draining. My trick is to pick one or two people to talk to deeply instead of trying to mingle with everyone. It feels less like work.

But what if the battery idea helps some people? For me it's not about fixing a flaw, it's just a handy way to describe needing a break.
