Paid $400 for a sensory assessment, insurance denied it, still worth it somehow

I finally got my daughter a full sensory processing assessment at a clinic three towns over. Out of pocket was $400 and my insurance came back saying it wasn't medically necessary. But the report gave us a list of specific accommodations like noise filtering ear buds and a weighted lap pad for school. She went from having a meltdown every morning to getting through the week with way less stress. Has anyone else paid for private evals when insurance wouldn't cover them?
