Blew a head gasket on I-5 at 2am, learned to check coolant before road trips
Rolling through Sacramento in my 05 Civic and the temp gauge spiked right past H, steam pouring out before I even hit the shoulder. Towed it 40 miles to a shop in Modesto, cost me $1,800 and a 3 day rental. Has anyone else had a cheap fix they ignored turn into a big bill like that?

Learned that lesson on a beat-up F150 back in 2010, cost me double that.
