A simple brake job turned into a threaded nightmare because I got lazy

I was rushing through a brake pad swap on my neighbor's car. To save a minute, I grabbed an adjustable wrench instead of the correct socket for the caliper bolt. The bolt was seized, and I forced it, rounding the head completely. I spent the next three hours drilling out the bolt and chasing new threads. That tiny shortcut turned a thirty-minute job into a half-day nightmare. Now I never skip the proper tool, no matter how small the task. It's a dumb mistake that cost me time and patience.

Forcing stuff never works, lol.

No way, three hours drilling like susanp31 said, forcing it is the worst!

I read this article last week about a piano teacher in Chicago who said drilling for more than 20 minutes at a time just makes kids hate the instrument. They start making more mistakes because they're tired and frustrated. It's like trying to force a square peg into a round hole, you just end up breaking the peg. Short, focused practice with breaks is way better for actually learning anything.
