Been torquing lug nuts by feel for 10 years until a wheel came off on the highway last June
After that tire shop in Phoenix lost a wheel off a customer's sedan and I realized I'd never once looked up the actual spec for my own truck, what made you finally bust out the torque wrench and stop guessing?

That wheel coming off on the highway" is exactly why I finally bought a torque wrench after my buddy's tire fell off at a car wash.

@ryan_clark40 I mean, yeah it's scary when a wheel actually comes off but honestly how many people is that happening to? I've been hand tightening lugs for like 15 years on my truck and my work van and never had any issues. Maybe it's just me but I feel like if you're just paying attention and giving them a good snug with the cross wrench you're probably fine most of the time. Torque wrenches are nice and all but it's another tool to buy and keep calibrated and idk if every driveway mechanic really needs one.
