Saw a shop in Reno charge $95 just to look at a car, and half the bays were empty
I was in Reno last month for a family thing and stopped by a big chain shop to grab a fuse for my truck. The place had six bays and only two cars in them, but the sign out front said diagnostics started at $95. A guy in the lot told me he got quoted $400 for a brake job he could do himself in his driveway for $80 in parts. If shops priced the look-see closer to $40, they would not be half empty on a Tuesday. Any of you work at a place that dropped the diag fee? Did the bays actually fill up or did it just attract tire kickers?
