My uncle swore I should ship my truck open carrier from Tulsa to Boise, saved me $400
Everyone on here pushes enclosed transport but for my 2011 F-150 he was right, no damage and it showed up a day early. Anyone else actually had a good run with open carriers or am I just lucky?

To be fair, a 2011 F-150 is exactly the kind of truck where open makes sense, since you're not protecting a show car or a brand new paint job. But calling it luck misses the real point, which is that open carriers work fine most of the time and the horror stories just get posted way more. I'd still go enclosed for anything classic or expensive, but for a daily driver like yours the savings are worth it.
