TIL: Sticking a $12 U-Haul furniture pad between my car seats killed the rattle that drove me nuts across 1,400 miles
I moved from Phoenix to Denver three years ago with one car and no trailer, so I folded the rear seats down and packed everything I owned around the driver's seat. Halfway through New Mexico, the seat belt buckle started tapping against the door panel and I thought I had a blown strut. I finally rolled up a moving blanket and shoved it in the gap at a gas station outside Santa Fe, and the noise just stopped. Anyone else found a dumb cheap fix that saved their sanity on a long haul?

Foam pipe insulation from Home Depot, two bucks, jammed in that same gap.
