Dropped $200 on a fancy harness tester and it saved my butt on a Cessna 172 last Friday
Picked up one of those automated box testers from a surplus sale. Used it to trace a intermittent short in the wing nav light circuit. Woulda took me all day with a multimeter, done in 20 minutes. Worth every penny for the time saved. Anyone else find a tool that paid for itself on one job?

God yes, bought a thermal camera last year to find a short in a friends truck. Spent two hours chasing wires before I remembered I had it. Found the hot spot in like ten seconds flat.
